April Training Calendar: New Sessions for Social Care Professionals

April brings a new series of online seminars designed to support professionals working across social care. Whether you are part of a management team, a frontline practitioner, or responsible for safeguarding and compliance within your service, these sessions provide practical guidance on some of the key challenges facing the sector.

At Social Care Skills, our focus is always on real practice, not just theory. Each session is delivered by experienced professionals who understand the realities of working in residential care, supported accommodation, fostering, and wider social care services. The aim is to create learning spaces where participants can explore regulatory expectations, strengthen professional judgement, and develop approaches that improve outcomes for children and young people.

During April, we will be covering several important topics that frequently arise in inspections, safeguarding discussions, and day-to-day practice. These include managing disciplinary and grievance processes within social care organisations, understanding the wider contexts in which young people experience harm through contextual safeguarding, strengthening record writing and case recording, and managing allegations against staff in a way that protects both children and professionals.

These seminars are particularly valuable for all levels of management, team leaders, safeguarding leads, and senior practitioners, although many of the sessions are equally relevant for frontline staff who want to strengthen their professional confidence and understanding of regulatory expectations.

All sessions are delivered live online through Microsoft Teams and include opportunities for discussion and questions. Participants receive a certificate of participation following completion of the session.

For organisations subscribed to our Leadership Programmes or to our Training Packages, these seminars are available as part of your subscription and can be selected as part of your monthly allocation.

If you would like to explore the sessions available this month or register for one of the seminars, you can view the full April calendar on our Events page.
