The Future of Supported Accommodation: Preparing Young People for Lifelong Success

We’re pleased to be attending, and contributing to, the Future of Supported Accommodation Conference taking place in Birmingham on 17 March 2026, a commissioner-led national event bringing together policy, inspection, commissioning, and practice voices from across the country.

The programme reflects how far Supported Accommodation has come as a regulated, established part of the care system. With strong representation from Department for Education, Ofsted, regional commissioning partnerships, and care-experienced voices, the focus is firmly on quality, standards, defensible decision-making, and outcomes for young people, not just provision.

We’re proud that Social Care Skills will be:

  • Contributing to a practice-based workshop focused on assessing need and risk, and identifying the right provision for young people
  • Exhibiting at the conference, with a stand where we’ll be available throughout the day to talk with commissioners, providers, and partners

Our work is grounded in helping services translate policy, standards, and inspection expectations into clear, evidence-informed practice, supporting better matching, stronger quality assurance, and more meaningful outcomes for young people leaving care.

If you’re attending, please come and say hello. We’re always keen to have thoughtful conversations about where the sector is heading, what’s working in practice, and how we collectively raise the quality and credibility of Supported Accommodation.
